I started working afor Icon Health and Fitness at the end of Sep. I work in a call center and troubleshoot workout equipment, order parts and extended warranties. I only took this job because I was desperate, but as it turns out I am pretty damn good at it. I started as a temp and after a few short week I was able to take a certification test that would allow me to be hired on full time and raise my commissions. I did not pass the first time (no one does) but the second time I took the test, one week later I got 100%! I was the first person ever to get 100 on that test. Ryan and I jokingly call it the kobayashi maru. I even got recognized in a Friday training in front of the whole call center for that achievement. I also then got hired on full time by Icon and was given a raise, at this point I became eligible to apply for a different position in the call center.

Today I had an interview for a quality position. I would listen to calls and score the reps who are helping customers. After my interview however I was told by my team lead that the main boss of the whole call center doesn't want me to leave the call floor because I am one of the best agents. I was then told that I was going to become a backup team lead and they want to sit new agents with me to train them. I would also get another raise. I have never worked somewhere and felt this appreciated. I have had customers email my team lead and praise my work and I have had other department heads stop me and tell me that they are impressed with my personality and the way I handle my customers, or ask me to call a customer for them. I am amazed that a job I was dreading turned out to be such a good opportunity for me and my family, and its literally across the street from where we live. What a blessing this has turned out to be.
